Symposium update Cape Town

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 uncertainties in Africa, ISME and the South Africa Local Organizing Committee made the difficult decision to postpone our ISME18 August 2022 meeting in South Africa to a later date.

As many of you know, the point of holding our symposium in different countries around the world is to give the local and regional scientists a chance to actively participate in our event and present their science. Unfortunately it is unlikely that this can happen in Africa next year so we are therefore postponing the symposium in Cape Town until 2024 or 2026.

ISME18 in Lausanne, Switzerland

Now that we agreed that ISME18 will not be held in Cape Town in 2022, the ISME Executive and International Board voted for an alternative location and the winner is Lausanne!

ISME18 will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland, from August 14th-19th, 2022.
