Apollo4 Lite and the Apollo4 Blue Lite - Ambiq

In the System-on-Chips (SoCs) range, Ambiq announced two new products: the Apollo4 Lite and the Apollo4 Blue Lite.

The new Apollo4 Lite and Blue Lite SoCs offer feature-rich capability, optimized memory, powerful graphics performance, and secureSPOT® for robust security in a lightweight solution.  

The Apollo4 Blue Lite offers secure Bluetooth® 5.1 Low Energy connectivity for communication to handheld devices, host equipment, and the Cloud. 

Ideal for digital health applications, such as digital stethoscopes, patient monitoring, and continuous glucose and blood pressure monitoring

Other applications that require ultra-low power processing like: Smart watches/bands, Wireless sensors and IoT, Motion and tracking devices, Far-field voice remotes, Smart home, Animal tracker.

Ambiq has also released the Heart Kit™, an optimized open-source AI model utilizing multi-head neural networks (MH-NNs) to enable a variety of real-time heart-monitoring applications.  

The Apollo4 Lite and Blue Lite product line is the latest generation system processor solutions built upon Ambiq’s proprietary Subthreshold Power-Optimized Technology (SPOT®) platform, enabling new features while reducing devices’ overall system power consumption to extend their battery life.

Both SoCs are embedded with an ultra-low power Cortex-M4 core that can operate at up to 192 MHz with turboSPOT, an audio subsystem, GPU, and ample MRAM and SRAM. They are also conveniently pin-compatible with Ambiq’s Apollo4 Plus and Blue Plus1, providing developers with optimum flexibility for innovation. 
 

Power Amplifier 450V, 2000V/µs  - PA198 - Apex Microtechnology

The PA198 is a 450V power operational amplifier with a very high 2000V/µs slew rate.  

It is targeted at high voltage applications including instrumentation, piezoelectric transducers and electrostatic transducers and deflection.  

Output voltages can swing up to ±215V on dual supplies, and up to +440V single supply. This high voltage amplifier utilizes a MOSFET output stage and has a power bandwidth of up to 2MHz.  
When operating within the safe operating area, PA198 has a maximum continuous current of 200mA. 

High accuracy is achieved with a cascode input circuit configuration. All internal biasing is referenced to a bootstrapped Zener-MOSFET current source. As a result, the PA198 features an unprecedented supply range and excellent supply rejection.  

The PA198 is a hybrid product design, housed in a space saving, electrically isolated 12-pin PowerSIP package. This lends itself to high-density circuit board layouts. 
 

5G RedCap (reduced capacity) module - Quectel

The RG255C is a series of small LGA modules based on 3GPP Release 17 RedCap (reduced capacity) technology which supports 5G SA modes and is backwards-compatible with the 4G network.

The module supports a theoretical peak data rate of 150Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink, while also supporting advanced 5G features such as URLLC and power saving. It is compatible with Quectel's EG2x 4G modules.

RG255C is designed for the global market and covers nearly all the mainstream carriers worldwide. The module supports L1+L5 GNSS for precise and power-optimized positioning. The integrated GNSS greatly simplifies product design, and provides quicker, more accurate and more dependable positioning capability.

A rich set of internet protocols, industry-standard interfaces (USB 2.0, PCIe 2.0, SGMII, I2C, GPIO etc.) and abundant functionalities (USB drivers for Windows, Linux and Android) allow the module to serve a wide range of applications such as industrial automation, smart cities, smart energy, wearable devices and mid-speed mobile broadband devices.

IP-Watcher 2xIn, 2xOut - 57955 - W&T

Up to 100 network nodes or IP addresses can be monitored with the IP-Watcher.

In times of Industry 4.0 and IoT, more and more devices communicate via the network or even via internet connections. If the work PC has no network connection, the user notices this immediately. However, if components such as cameras, light barriers or other sensors fail, this is often recognized much too late.

The IP-Watcher monitors up to 100 network participants cyclically via ICMP (ping) and raises an alarm if they cannot be reached.

In addition to a message by e-mail, this can also be done via a switching contact. In the event of a network failure, fault reporting devices, warning lamps or horns can also be activated.

It gives an immediate overview with simple commissioning. In the browser, the user gets an overview of the status of the monitored network nodes at a glance.

The IP-Watcher is just about the size of a pack of playing cards and, with its 24V supply and mounting options for the DIN rail, is optimally prepared for use in the control cabinet or network cabinet. Alternatively, the IP-Watcher can also be supplied via PoE (Power over Ethernet).
