Lots of jolly and ho ho ho was experienced by all at Humanitas during the Shimmy Shake Christmas lunch. On Tuesday 10 December thirty-nine women and one guy were treated to a delicious luxury 3 course meal at beautifully decorated tables. Between the courses there was plenty of room for a workshop Qi Gong, a fusion bellydance performance by the Golden Girls and a sword dance by Maya Acid/Renate. We rounded off with a introduction Bellydance lesson followed by joyous dancing with each other!

Winter will not be dull in 2020! Saturday January 18th you can dance the blues away at our Beat the Blues Hafla. There are still some places left to perform so sign up before january 1st via the website. We are looking for dance students in particular, but everybody is welcome to take the stage! Or just join us to have fun and dance together.

Bring along food and drink as this is a free event where we all contribute. And your dancing feet and biggest smile! See you January 18th at 3 in the afternoon at Cuartito Azul Rotterdam!

On Sunday 9th February from 11.00 – 17.00, the first edition of the Dancers Dealings will take place in the WTC Rotterdam Business Centre. This series of 5 workshops by selected experts will give you the tools you need to get your business going, or sharpen up the one you have.

How to make the best deal? What is good PR, on-line marketing? What do I need to do to be officially registered? How can I raise money? And more handy stuff! Watch our website for more, or ask Eva (who is responsible for this program) your questions via pr@liteside.nl

Throughout the Netherlands dancers take part in the search in one of the 5 categories: 1. The Talent Search where you dance to be considered for coaching and a place in the Talent Carnival on June 7 2. Choosing fusion where you dance your own style to be considered for Tribal Fusion lessons 3. Dancing for Fun not wanting anything further 4. Dancing as a School in a piece by your teacher 5. AUDITION for professionals, for a place in projects, international exchange and shows.

The Shimmy Shake Festival 2020 will take place on 6, 7 and 8 November 2020. We are delighted to tell you that APRIL ROSE will teach her famous Bellydance Cohesion workshop. At 12 hours all together you will get a training and tools for the rest of your life. Be aware that her workshops are extraordinary and not to be missed.

This 12 hour workshop costs €270,-. We are deciding between 6 hours Saturday and Sunday, or 4 hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Maybe better because then there is time for more of the festival. More info available soon!

2019 was an amazing year for Shimmy Shake. We met so many new dancers, saw the skills of Dutch Fusion Bellydance skyrocket and started exciting new projects. Thank you everybody for an amazing year of shimmies!
