Sachal Vasandani goes acoustic again, and is up for a Grammy
Last February, Sachal Vasandani released his album "Best Life Now". The album got rave reviews:
"Sachal Vasandani returns with the vastly expanded textural palette and head-nodding grooves of Best Life Now." (Jazzwise)
"Best Life Now puts forth a seamless amalgam of pop songwriting, tight R&B grooves and jazz textures and sonorities in the mix (...) his intelligent songwriting rises above mere pop-soul genre generics." (DownBeat)
Three songs of "Best Life Now" are on the Grammy ballot. 
On September 30, Sachal Vasandani released an acoustic version of the album: "Best Life Now - acoustic sessions EP" (6 tracks). Watch the video of the titlesong .

Paperclip Agency supports cultural boycott against Israel
Culture is about freedom: the freedom to express yourself, the freedom to take your favorite culture to you.
The worldwide cultural boycott in the '80s/´90s against the apartheid-regime in South-Africa was widely supported, and effective.
Paperclip Agency now supports the Belgian/Dutch cultural boycott against the Israeli regime and those in the cultural field who cooperate, or, if you prefer, collaborate, with, or legitimize, that regime.
The Israeli regime commits genocide in Gaza, commits ethnic cleansing on the West Bank, and discriminates against its own citizens who are Arab, or non-zionist. Arab and Palestinian culture are systematically being destroyed for decades already. This basically started in 1948, when the nationalist-religious state of Israel declared itself independent.
The current regime is the worst Israel has ever had. Self-declared homophobic fascists and self-declared racists, who have important positions in the government, have a stranglehold on Netanyahu and on the entire government. Others in that government, including Netanyahu, are haters for sure. And Israel society is no better: 80% of jewish Israeli citizens favors murder on or ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians (unlike many jews abroad).
Over 2000 individuals and over 600 organizations in the Belgian and Dutch cultural field have already joined the Boycott .
Until all hostages held in Gaza are free, until all Palestinians and Arabs held in prison in Israel without trial are free, until there is lasting peace and security for both sides, until there is a truly independent Palestinian state with a territory that is satisfactory to the Palestinians, until Israel stops breaking international law, until both sides pay for reparation (taking into account the damages done, and the financial capacities), the boycott should remain in place.

Busy Business 
The CBS (Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics) announced last month, that 1 in 6 employees has stressful work. Stress is often the result of high demands and little freedom. Pharmacist assistants score highest in stressful professions. I don't know if the statistics paid attention to people working in the live music business.
Working in the live music business can be stressful, as we all know. There are periods when it is extremely busy. If you manage a venue/festival, book artists, handle tours, sounds or lights, you can't escape these periods of long working hours and little leisure time.
Seven month ago, in the beginning of my burn-out, I suddenly spent day after day at home, without work. It was hard to handle. I was used to being 'on' all the time, in the office as well as at home. It felt like I didn't know where to find the 'off' button! So I started reading again and doing puzzles, just to keep being busy. 
After several weeks I finally could accept doing nothing. That is when my therapist told me to compare my energy level to a battery. So far it sounds simple: you just feel how much energy you have.Then she also told me, that it's good to have a fully charged spare battery! That was an eye-opener for me.
Taking just enough time to relax so you can get up the next morning to start another day, is not enough. If you don't want to burn yourself, especially when facing very busy periods, you need to relax enough to fill that spare battery too.
My battery and my spare battery feel pretty much filled again now. Finding ways to keep the 'off' button visible at all times, especially in times when it is very busy, that's a continuous challenge.
